The Announced Maximum Yard Capacity

The developer's pre-release plan for Horses of Hoofprint Bay specified up to 20 horses in a fully upgraded stable, plus 13 yearlings in a dedicated yearling paddock. Increase space at home through building upgrades, or pay to board additional horses with the breeder in town.

How to Make Room for More Horses

  1. Upgrade your stable to increase accommodation at home. Building upgrades make space for more horses; the developer's pre-release plan put the fully upgraded stable's capacity at up to 20 horses.
  2. Plan yearling accommodation around the dedicated yearling paddock. Its announced maximum was 13 yearlings, separate from the ordinary stable-horse allowance, so consider that space when deciding which youngsters to keep.
  3. Board additional horses with the breeder in town when you need accommodation beyond your home facilities. The developer describes this as paid boarding for as many additional horses as you can afford to keep there.

Plan for Owned Horses, Boarders and Foals

Before buying an owned horse, accepting a boarder or keeping a foal, check the accommodation you can provide. Review stable room and yearling accommodation separately. Leave yourself flexibility for horses you want to retain rather than planning every arrival around a completely full yard.

Check how each horse is accommodated instead of assuming that owned horses, incoming boarders and nursing foals all use space in the same way. When reviewing stable groups, check the effect of any rearrangement before committing to another arrival. Base expansion plans on available accommodation and the board you can afford.

Filling the Stable for Full House

Full House requires filling a fully upgraded stable with horses. If that achievement is your goal, work toward it before Empty Nest, which requires having no horses you own at your farm. Keep horses needed for unfinished breeding goals while you plan those ownership changes.
